schedule
2020/21 season
Like most performers, Joanna’s 2020/21 season was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, she sang Cherubino in an online production of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, and in a recording of Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges with VOPERA and the London Philharmonic Orchestra – a production which won both the Southbank Sky Arts Award 2021 and the Royal Philharmonic Society Award 2021. She also recorded the role of Diana in a new operatic adaptation of Michael Palin’s play The Weekend with music by Scott Stroman.
When in person events were permitted, she performed the title role in Holst’s Sāvitri in outdoor performances at Lauderdale House with Hampstead Garden Opera, and Innkeeper’s Wife in The Cunning Little Vixen as an Emerging Artist for Longborough Festival Opera.
She sang in a recital programme of Russian music by Arensky and Tchaikovsky as part of the Pushkin House Festival (online), a programme of Shakespeare operatic repertoire at the Proms at St Jude’s, in Nevill Holt Young Artist summer concerts and became a Young Artist for Opera Prelude.
