Neon Sonnets at John Rylands Library

Joanna premieres a new work for voice and clarsach by Melissa Douglas based on Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116 this evening at Neon Sonnets at the John Ryland’s Library in Manchester. The event is part of Manchester After Hours and entry is free. Performances begin at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm.

Joanna will be performing the role of La Maestra delle Novizie (Mistress of the Novices) in an exciting new production of Puccini’s Suor Angelica reimagined in a women’s refugee centre, with Manchester Opera Ensemble in conjunction with the Women’s Equality Party. Performances will take place at Manchester’s renowned Central Library in December 2016.

Bridgewater Hall “Introducing”

On 9 Dec, Joanna will perform a lunchtime recital – Tell me the Truth about Love – as part of Bridgewater Hall’s “Introducing” series with baritone John Holland-Avery and pianist Rachel Fright. The programme features songs by Britten, Mozart, Brahms and Wolf. The recital begins at 12:45pm and entry is free.
